“Can’t You See My Tears in My Eyes?”

Writing is a part of my healing process.
To bring forth what’s hidden underneath the surface.
My experiences are many, but friends are few.
Yet we all get to where we’re needed?

I wear my smile to deflect my sadness.
I remain hidden beneath the surface in truth.
“Can’t you see my tears in my eyes?”

I used to simply give my art away.
To try and heal through many other voices.
My art’s all over the world through others.
But my brilliance is owned by many others.

I wear my smile to deflect my sadness.
I remain hidden beneath the surface in truth.
“Can’t you see my tears in my eyes?”

I was extremely elated, making others very happy.
But I was very sad deep within me.
For they have kept her from my life.
You can’t live life from a rear-view mirror.

I wear my smile to deflect my sadness.
I remain hidden beneath the surface in truth.
“Can’t you see my tears in my eyes?”

Many years have passed, my abilities are honed.
Nowadays, I hoard that which I have created.
Wanting to make it on my own through art.
But publishing takes money which I don’t have.

I wear my smile to deflect my sadness.
I remain hidden beneath the surface in truth.
“Can’t you see my tears in my eyes?”

(Back to the top; repeat)

“Can’t you see my tears in my eyes?”
