“Empty Pockets.”

You’ve been passed a deck of cards
It’s now your time to deal
Whether you have the winning hand
The fates shall indeed eventually reveal
Life isn’t a game of chance
Yet we all must pay and play
Life is unpredictable, full of uncertainty?
So stand, throw down your hand
Chips will fall where they may
You never know, perhaps you’ll win
More than you bargained for today.

There comes a point in time
No denying how you truly feel
Your dream is owned by another
So let lose, release, don’t conceal
Even with empty pockets you win?
Easier to deal with what’s lost
Than to not play, giving in
Forsaking a chance at your dreams
Now that is the actual sin.
