I had a dream of a world united as equals, regardless of culture, regardless of skin tone, regardless of sexual orientation. While I was asleep one evening, I had a vision of a field of poppies in black and white for as far as the eyes could see. Suddenly, the center of the field came into focus in full color, changing with the time of season. This played out over and over in my mind for I don’t know how long. I realized after a while that I was awake and, just as suddenly as the imagery had arrived, words flew out of my soul. “In Every Field!” came into existence. Written from my heart in the style of the iconic “In Flanders Field” and John McCrae out of love for humanity.
