“The Markets”

he opening bells . . .
The opening bells . . .
Oh, the opening bells are all ringing.
They bring to us . . .
They ring for us . . .
Oh, how opportunity has us all singing.
The markets flow . . .
The markets grow . . .
Oh, how the markets know what to bring!
The rising prices . . .
The many devices . . .
Oh, how our stock markets serve.
The many choices . . .
The many voices . . .
Oh, how our good fortunes sing.
The money flows . . .
The money grows . . .
Oh, how the people’s worth goes.
Suddenly, we endure a massive correction . . .
A sudden, profound change of direction . . .
Turning a party into a wake.
Suddenly, the markets again turn . . .
So that we may all again earn . . .
And take from the table our bounty.
We have inflation . . .
We have infatuation . . .
As our stock markets soar.
The rising prices . . .
The secret devices . . .
As our rates rise from the floor.
The tickers displayed . . .
Many are played . . .
Some tell lies, that’s the truth.
Companies are created . . .
Companies are rated . . .
As we expect more profits galore.
Suddenly, we endure a massive correction.
A sudden, profound change of direction.
Turning a party into a wake.
Suddenly, the markets again turn.
So that we may all again earn.
And take from the table our bounty.

(return to the top and repeat)
